Able Skills has designed this 5 day Advanced Bricklaying course for those of you who have completed our 5 day Introductory Bricklaying course and want to take things a step further. This particular bricklaying course will teach you more advanced techniques within bricklaying whilst also providing you with the opportunity to build on your speed and technique. The projects which you will undertake will be much more ornate and detailed than on the 5 day introductory bricklaying course. You will also be introduced to different bricklaying tools to achieve angled, even and different cuts.

Undertaken Able Skills Introductory course or experience
It is preferred that you will have completed Able Skills Introductory Bricklaying course before moving on to this Advanced training option allowing you to build upon existing knowledge. This course will enable you to try your hand at putting together more ornate structures and brickwork designs. You will gain full knowledge of all of the various stages of bricklaying which will provide you with the ability and confidence to tackle more complex areas of brickwork.
Having attended our introductory course, you will now have the opportunity to improve your skills and you will have a choice of how you want the Advanced Course to run:

Traditional closing of reveals at openings
Forming a window opening
Installation of lintel & cavity tray

Brick pier with mitred capping
Garden walling in Flemish or English bond / garden wall variants
Oversailing courses with Brick on edge capping or coping stone finish
Painting techniques; birds’ beak and weather struck
Option Three
Semi circular rough ring arch construction
One and half brick pier with double oversailing courses, with mitre brick on edge capping
We are not claiming to cover every single aspect of bricklaying in 5 days, but we do promise to provide you with very comprehensive bricklaying training and an excellent opportunity to progress further if you want. Our 5-day bricklaying courses will act as a great basis for work within the bricklaying industry but we do recommend that you consider additional training if you want to sustain a long term career as a Bricklayer.
This is a hands-on, practical tiling course and you will be involved at every stage and will be participating throughout. It is therefore recommended you bring suitable clothing and for your own safety, steel capped footwear is essential.
All of our courses take place at our dedicated training centre in Dartford, Kent. The centre is easily accessible by road, being just 10 minutes from junction 1a on the M25. We are only a short walk from Dartford train station which is served by frequent trains taking 35 minutes from central London. For anyone travelling from further away, we have our own accommodation available at only £25 per night.
